Registration to the GrampianLife online public forum is free! We do insist that you understand and follow these terms of use.

The Terms of Use exist so that everyone can get the best out of contributing to GrampianLife. They aim to protect anyone who reads or contributes, and to help everyone to have a fun, safe and informative experience.

Remember:

  • GrampianLife is a Public Forum with users of all ages.
  • Please be polite
  • If you disagree with a post, discuss the issue rather than attacking the author

Although the administrators and moderators of GrampianLife will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum. It is impossible for us to review all messages as quickly as we'd like. Please inform a moderator by Personal Message, or send an email using Contact at the bottom of the page, if you are concerned about any post - please do not contact the author directly.

All messages express the views of the author and not necessarily of the GrampianLife administrators.

Legal points

If anything you post is illegal (defamatory, for example), condones illegal activities (such as recommending drug taking) or infringes the copyright of a third party, then it has to be removed.

By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.

The administrators of the GrampianLife Forum reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason.

Please, no flaming or trolling

On the GrampianLife Forum, flaming means posting something that's angry and mean-spirited. We recommend constructive discussion as a far more satisfying pastime. Trolls say deliberately provocative things just to stir up trouble - it's not polite, so please don't do it. GrampianLife is a friendly place, so please help keep it that way.

Please avoid profanity

No hard-core profanity will be tolerated, but low-level rude words will be tolerated if appropriate

Political discussion

  • You must declare if you are a candidate
  • A candidate is permitted to campaign only in a single appropriately titled discussion thread
  • Please discuss the issues and refrain from personal abuse

Reviews

Users are welcome to post reviews about businesses. However, users should declare their interest in a business if they have any. Blatant and inappropriate advertising or promotion of a business will moderated.

Privacy

Be careful with including email addresses, instant messaging numbers and the like in contributions, and please do not include anyone else's personal details. Do not include personal names of private individuals.
The email address you supply at registration is only available to site administrators, and will not be passed on to third parties.

Other tips

  • As in any good conversation, just be yourself when writing a post
  • Take in what's been written and pay attention to what has been discussed in the topic
  • Don't hesitate to post to get help with any Forum or general computer help in the Forum/technology matters section
  • Everyone reading this Forum is interested in the life of Grampian, so feel free to make New Topics that are relevant in any way to others in North East Scotland
  • Avoid starting a new discussion thread if there's already a relevant one
  • Finally, brevity is usually best

Please send the Site Admin (anax) a Personal Message or use the contact button at the Footer of each page, if there is any post you feel inappropriate.
