Pasta with Green Peas, Lardons and Chilli

  • 1 shallot or onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 red chilli
  • Around 200g smoked lardons
  • Around 300g pasta
  • Around 300ml single cream
  • 1 can green peas
  • Olive oil or butter
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Mozzarella or any cheese suitable for gratin (Gruyere, Emmental...)

Methods/steps

Finely chop the shallot and the garlic clove. Slice the chilli.
In a large saucepan, sauté the shallot and the garlic clove in olive oil or butter.
Add the lardons and brown them. Then add chilli and green peas.

Cook pasta as indicated on the packet. Drain and add them to the pan.
Add the cream (don't be afraid of adding too much, as some cream will be absorbed by the pasta in the oven).

Preheat the grill.
Pour pasta into a baking dish. Cover with cheese and put under the grill until cheese is nicely coloured.

Additional Tips

For the lazy ones, those pasta are also delicious without being gratinated.
