- 4 large onions
- 500g minced meat (a mix of pork and beef is good, or even sausage meat, but then be careful with salt)
- White bread (crumb of 1 slice)
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper
- Nutmeg
- Sugar
- Fresh parsley
Methods/steps
Preheat the oven to 180-200°C.
Generously butter a baking dish.
Peel onions and cook them in simmering salted water for around 10 minutes.
Gently remove the onion centres, leaving the shell intact.
Chop the onion centres.
Mix meat with the egg and crumb, salt, pepper, nutmeg and parsley. Add chopped onion centres.
Stuff the onions with this mixture. Arrange them in the baking dish.
Sprinkle sugar on the onions (not on the meat).
Bake around 25 to 35 minutes.

You can top onions with grated cheese and gratinate them (then don't use sugar).
