Winter Road Safety Campaign

The roads are getting dangerous, so take precautions...

Grampian Police in Banchory are embarking on a operation focusing on basic car maintenance and road safety for the coming winter months.

The operation, being launched on Friday 23 November 2007, will see police patrols check cars for general roadworthiness.

Drivers are invited to bring their cars along to the Bellfield car park, Banchory, between 7pm and 10pm on Friday 23 November where officers will carry out vehicle inspections. Anyone found to have vehicle faults at this location will be given amnesty from prosecution.

Motorists attending will be shown how to check their tyre pressure and tread depth and will be given general advice on winter driving. Police have arranged a discount with a local tyre distributor and vouchers for this discount will be handed out on the day.
