BRAHMS Double Concerto (32’)
BRAHMS(arr SWENSEN) Sinfonia (1854) (40’)
Joseph Swensen conductor/violin
Ralph Kirshbaum cello.
Following their inspirational performances of Elgar’s
Cello Concerto in 2004, Joseph Swensen and
Ralph Kirshbaum are reunited for Brahms’s Double
Concerto, the composer’s last orchestral work
and a piece imbued with warmth and humanity.
It’s paired with another work by Brahms – Swensen’s
new arrangement for orchestra of the delightful
Piano Trio Op 8.
